I'm sorry, she did what?  A child isn't a piece of clothing or a canned good, that you can simply return like it doesn't matter.  If she was afraid of the child, she should have sought help...not abandon the child as if it were a piece of trash.  WOW...she should be stripped of any right to be a parent!
