Well, he'd report that the average foot temperature is acceptable, but the standard deviation is too high. And the average measured discomfort level is high. But you are correct, the article reports poorly chosen numbers based upon poor analysis, and as such presents very little knowledge.
Disagree. College is not a trade school. If you want a focused education, go to a school that focuses on that particular topic.
We need society to be more accepting of people with focused degrees, and we need people to be more willing to pursue them if they aren't interested in a broader education.

As soon as the article said 'transfers count as dropouts', the numbers become meaningless. Absolutely worthless. Transfers should, at worst, be EXCLUDED from the data; preferably, they should be listed as an adjunct figure (%graduate in 6 or fewer years, %transfer, %other).
