4 problems that pushed Oreck into bankru...

Comments on this site are convincing me to strongly consider Oreck when my 24-year-old made in USA Eureka gives out.  Yes, it takes bags. Yes, I had to change the drive belt in the carpet cleaning head 4 years ago, and the hose a year ago. Yes, it's heavy to lug up and downstairs. Other than that, I wouldn't trade unti...more

Of course this market can go down

Hmmm....Did MSNBC fire Anthony Mirhaydari and replace him with another chart-happy gloomster? (Note the Big Wed Awwow at the top of the story.) Or is this just our old Anthony operating under an assumed name?

Bull market's final act

Technical analysis, enough said. Study after study has debunked it. "The reality distortion field continues." This is bafflegab backed by jazzy charts.

Like Smeado, Sid_Shock and CR-ROC, I have to wonder why MSN.com posted this article without a warning about who the author was. I can only guess that it was because far fewer people would have bothered to click to open it if they had known who wrote it beforehand. I know I would not have taken the time.

That's the simple version, but if more people would learn it before age 30, they individually and the country as a whole would be better off.   The intermediate-level version is that if you can...more

Sarah Palin in Tesla 'loser' dustup

Follow-up: the site dropped the link to the New York Times article I put in the previous post. The article is from July 3, 2010 and is titled, "As Oil Industry Fights a Tax, It Reaps Subsidies." You can easily find it by Googling that title or the search term I used, "Oil Exploration Tax Credit."

Sarah Palin in Tesla 'loser' dustup

For JJF or anyone else who would like some factual information about the extent of oil subsidies:  I know some of you kneejerk illiberals will immediately howl: Don't trust it, it's the left-leaning New York Times! However, if you will but read the article, you will see that it is at least as "fair and balanced" as you...more
