the 47% are not all deadbeats as you make them out. If you make 80K and have 10 kids - you will pay no income taxes. Eliminate exemptions and tax credits for children, and these people will have to pay their share.
looks like bad math to me. For tampa at 144K, with a 10% down, and 3.5% interest, Principal+interest comes to abt $736, then add property tax and insurance, est 125 monthly, add mortgage insurance as well, looks like at least $900, or 50% of gross income. I thought rule of thumb was to loan no more than 33% of income....more

think of all the resources it takes to get oil, drilling, spilling, cleanups, transporting it everywhere (using more of it), poison in the air, the water, our food supply. At least electricity CAN be made cleaner. How much pollution comes out of Hoover Dam? There is no one answer - but electricity is one of them.

The correct comparison is based on how much you save on fuel yearly, to pay the difference between the hybrid and a regular vehicle- which is really about 10-15K. If you save 2K a year in fuel, then it...more
Why is our government loaning to banks at all? They should be borrowing from their members. They are a business. A savings account pays almost nothing in interest - why? Because they banks can borrow from our govenment for almost nothing. Its not like there is no money out there.
