I understand your loss.  I had to put my cat down after 18 wonderful years of coming home everyday to find her sitting on the top of the couch with that "feed me" look on her face.  That was 13 years ago...I haven't had the heart to adopt another animal...maybe someday.

They closed the one down by me last year.  It is always sad to see people lose their jobs, but that is free enterprise.  Adapt or go out of business.

Working at McDonald's isn't a bad start if you play it right.  My dad is friends with a guy who started working there as a teenager....last I heard he owned five different McDonald's restaurants (franchising).
