Horses + barbed wire do not mix. I use electric fence. Much more humane if the horse gets scared and runs through it. Once the fence wire breaks, the charge stops. Horses are claustrophobic by nature, so if they get caught up they fight to death to try and get free. Never use barb wire to enclose them!
