Where do you idiots think he can write it off? The company simply gave it out to the employees instead of to him. It's not like they are a 501c3 charitable organization.
He doesn't get any tax break. It's not a donation to a charitable organization there idiot. The company is simply adding the ~$185 to each employee's paycheck instead of his. He gains nothing. And, the $185 is taxable to each of the employee's.
Just stop accepting insurance and medicare. Switch to an all-cash business and just bill customers directly. You would actually save money by reducing your costs. Hey MirageGuy - we actually agree on something! It makes 0 sense that employers are responsible for their employees healthcare. It boggles my mind. We either go 100% single payer (and the consequences) or 100% free market. This is the worst of both worlds. Open up interstate commerce!
