You all do know that if you paid $200 in to SS, your employer also paid $200 for you, so you really paid $400 that pay period into SS. ( this is also one of the prime reasons your employer sent your job to Mexico or China, no more  matching SS Funds)

The only reason banks etc. went along with the idiotic plan was the fact that no matter what happened they would not lose a cent. (and they did not lose a cent, did they?) This whole housing, equity loan scam was the economy during those "free wheeling" years.
