When I worked there I was offered more than minimum wage right off the bat and I was just a regular "associate" and worked in the Fabrics and Crafts dept.. If you have a known disability and they tell you they are willing to work around it, then they can't fire you. You should have spoken up instead of just quitting. Same with the guy who is not supposed to carry boxes. Take it up with higher management if they threaten to fire you (or him) instead of making excuses.
