Average US retirement age climbs to 61

He ignores one thing, though - many out there work paycheck to paycheck and never get ahead.  You have to have something to save it.  "Why" isn't the issue - the fact that the majority of people can't make it should count for something here.  Our economy is built like an upside-down pyramid.  And we DO pay into social ...more

George Takei takes on Buzzfeed's 'tradit...

Using religion for hate or discrimination seems universally to be what it is used for, but the funny thing is, that is against the message it is supposed to teach.  I'm not gay, but as long as they don't force it in my face, I have no problem with giving everyone the same freedoms I feel I am due.  I certainly keep my ...more

Visual effects icon Ray Harryhausen dies

The King has died.  Long live the King.  I haven't seen a cg monster that lived up to his creations, 'realism' or not.  Now they make the entire movie look fake and colorless so the effects don't stand out.  I prefer to look at solid, real objects, even if the movement isn't exactly realistic.

You're bananas.  I'm not up to no good.  The cop would laugh and give me a ticket for potentially damaging the sidewalk.  I know someone this happened to, so get over yourself and you learn something.  I also know cops (some are my friends) and I know one who has a favorite trick: you've been pulled over and undo your ...more
