There's too many Chicken Littles out there.
Since the stock market has risen 34% in the past few months, doesn't it make sense that there would be some profit taking? I'm thinking that all we're seeing is some investors pulling profits out of the market since we've hit a plateau. Once we begin to start seeing bits ...more
After reading several responses from those with a "college education", it becomes clear that our academic system is flawed. I'm amazed at the number of misspelled words, poor grammar, and inaccurate logic that is applied to their thinking.
College, or no college, those that learn and succeed are those that have the...more
All of these suggestions in the article have merit. I use most of them and am getting 32mpg average in my 1999 VW Passat with 1.8T and manual transmission. I also get 34mpg average in my 1999 BMW 323i and manual transmission. My worst offender is the 2006 F150 4x4. Although I drive it easy, I get 19mpg with a 5.4L ...more
Dukw44 has it right. If you want a real motorcycle, and not a "Lifestyle", buy a Beemer. Best bike I've ever owned, solid, comfortable, and reliable. I've owned several brands (Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis, sorry no Harleys, just not my style ), but I've owned BMWs for the last 20 years and I'll never own another bran...more
I had a 1968 Camaro and a 1976 Camaro Rally Sport. Since then I have owned Corvettes and BMWs. I have to admit, I'm probably not the target market for the new Camaro. But when I compare the recent retro-rods from "Detroit", I believe that Chrysler nailed it with the styling of the Challenger. It truly looks better ...more
I don't understand why anyone would get upset over this. As far as I'm concerned, the banks/card issuers can set their fees and terms at whatever they want. It's up to us to decide whether to accept their terms or look elsewhere.
It sounds like everyone commenting sees low cost credit as a RIGHT. But it's a PRIVILE...more
Another thing you could add to the list, Liz, has been our compulsion for collecting things. Longaberger baskets, NASCAR die casts, tin toys, Hummels, guns, sports memorabilia, Petroliana, coins, stamps, farm toys, Danbury and Franklin Mint collectibles, Barbie dolls, watches, jewelry, Cabbage Patch . . . the list is...more
Entertaining article, Liz. I found myself smiling and nodding at all of those "excesses" that will stereotype our age when we look back 20 years from now.
However, I don't believe there is anything wrong with owning any of these items that you describe, if a person CAN AFFORD IT, and it makes them happy.
The real me...more
Buying insurance is basically placing a bet. The insurance company is betting that you will not have an accident (they keep your premium and pay nothing). We as policy holders are betting that we will have an accident at some point. (We expect the insurance company will cover our liability if it is our fault, or hel...more
