Nothing is ever 19.99 anyway...once you add in sales tax it will likely be 20.98 or 21.44 etc; you just round it up, or down, and if you're a retailer...you're likely sending the govt. thousands of dollars in sales tax anyway. If you're a consumer and an extra nickle bothers you...you probably shouldn't buy it anyway.

If you buy a dollar item and the sales tax is 7 percent...you don't pay the govt. in pennies to figure it out...unless of course you sell one item every year. The only industry pushing to keep the penny is the zinc industry...who already has lobbiests out there coming up with ridiculous excuses to keep it.
