You absolutely can and should compare cars like these. I think it is fair to question whether or not the extra money spent is worth it. The problem is the subjectivity of the criteria. It would be nice if they either based it off of blind opinion polls or off of reviews, etc.
I wouldn't say that its ride quality is up to the bmw/benz/audi level, but the luxury appointments do fit and I do wonder why it isn't list on the bargain list here.
Road rep isn't crazy, and it wouldn't be the zr1 that would be the value standard bearer in the vette lineup, it would be the z06. It has most of its upgrades and is still 35k cheaper. ZR1 wasn't in this years motortrend roundup but it was in last years and it did very well. It does do handling very well, lightweight, ...more
If you have CC's, cut them up and pay them off. Use debit cards backed by cc companies and you get all of the benefits, security, and even rewards without the risk of debt. Cash is king.
If you need transaction recording, plug it into your phone, or use a debit card.
Debit cards backed by the CC companies have all of the same protections.
CC companies aren't in the business of giving away money...they offer to transfer balances, reward points, but do not give money away. I get as many cc offers ...more
That's why I think a better system would be the best driver's car based on tiered ranges of msrp cost, or even better would be a matrix on performance as function of cost...make the price equalize the performance. That means the manufacturers will be forced to maximize performance with less expensive parts. Let the ric...more
I love excessive horsepower as much as the next guy, but it isn't everything. Hp/lb is better but driving feel is the most important. A car the drives like it is on rails and commuciates the road feel through the wheel is more rewarding. Being able to set off car alarms as you redline your engine is over rated.
This is where performance per dollar figure acts as the great equalizer. If there is set criteria for performance and each vehicle comes away with a number, then it is an easy calculation to determine if any two cars performance improvement is worth the extra money it costs to get that performance. The mustang is a goo...more
Yeah, how about equalizing the testing by dollar figure, because 123k pays for better equipment to help the 911 beat the gtr. Money is the real differentiator. If I took that extra 27k and spent it on upgrading the areas lacking in the gtrs dynamics, or 100k spent on the brz, would it beat the 911? No one would put th...more
