Odd - I don't think of song birds as being vermin and cats kill 1.4 to 3 BILLION birds a year in the U.S.

Simply not true - in addition to the comments above - cats kill millions (yes, MILLIONS) of nesting baby birds.

The 'bell on a collar' is totally useless. Cats don't noisily run up on their prey jingling all the way - they slowly creep up on prey and the bells make no sound whatsoever. Keep your cats inside - it's healthier for them and will save up to 3.5 BILLION birds a year in the U.S.
