Running water INSIDE houses.  Imagine having to get up at night in the cold and dark to use the bathroom outside, or having to wash, cook, and bathe without running water in your home. Might not have changed the world, but it sure improved it  saved a lot of lives if for no other reason than health reasons.

I have flown on most of the airlines mentioned.  I can tell you yes, they have tv on aircrafts and just about  ANYTHING else you want/need/require.  Flying business class or first class is an entirely different world to flying coach.
