@Johnny, FYI the "law" is whatever Congress makes it. They change it all the time. They pass this bill, and the penalty for crossing the border illegally will be a fine they have to pay, and that is all. No forced deportation, if they wish to become citizens. They will have to start paying income tax and FICA, whic...more
It is expected to save the program millions of dollars every year. There is no reason for the government to pay someone to amuse you. There is no reason to pay them to fill out a form you could fill out more easily yourself. There is no reason to keep paying overtime just to keep the offices open. If this were a bu...more
FYI, FICA is taken out pretax. Since it is a deduction from your pay, it doesn't count as taxable income in the first place. The only time you are taxed on this money is when you can actually spend it, and even then, you don't pay full taxes on all of it as you would with a retirement plan. If you doubt it, look at...more

It would help if you had a clue how the system worked. What you get from SS is based on how much you contributed over the years. If you don't contribute, you don't get benefits. Once all these "illegals" start working legally, they will contribute taxes to the fund and anything they get when they retire will be base...more
3 of the low tax states are primarily financed by the oil industry. As such, the oil company gets to use those local taxes to avoid federal taxes. Most of these states also have some of the lowest population densities of any state, few if any large cities.
I don't see anyone moving out of Westchester county for the taxes. They are so rich, they probably don't even notice the taxes they actually have to pay. One of the highest income counties in the country. NYC also has the highest average income for any city. Wages are high because the cost of living in the city is ...more
