Waiting for the recognition

Exactly right Malacoda! Gold is a joke, and has been for quite some time. Someone needs to explain to me why a shiny little piece of metal has more value than a company (Caterpillar for example) that has real assets, makes something important to the world, and employs thousands of workers.  Bill, your advice has sucked...more

The new market bubble

He ALWAYS is short term!  And a bit disingenuous as well.  When he talks about "booking profits in stock positions"......If a person had followed his advice there would have been no stock position!  And by the way... for two at least two decades I HAVE stayed heavy in this market, and I HAVE been sorry more than a few ...more

The new market bubble

Here is an excellent example of the phrase "Giving you enough rope to hang yourself"   Mr. Anthony Mirhaydari: "If not, as I've been recommending for weeks, use the enthusiasm to your advantage by booking profits in stock positions and raising your exposure to beaten down "safe haven" assets like Treasury bonds, pr...more

This market desperately needs the gloom and doomers to hang in there.  When everybody gets bullish....that's when the real problems start.  The old axiom that "markets climb a wall of worry" certainly holds true here.

Bad analogy there Lemming K.  He's the Bill Bellchick of the business world.  Knows the value of his investments.....doesn't fall in love with them.....rarely (if ever) pays too much.....Extremely consisent in his acquisitions.  Doesn't trip all over himself pursuing "The Next Big Thing."  You don't have to like either...more

Wow....a lot of hate for a man trying to do what he feels is the right thing.  If you knew anything about where this church is located in St. Louis, you'd know that these kids are going to be exposed to PLENTY of guns as they're growing up.  It's nice that most of us can have fun memories of growing up with toy guns an...more

Believing the Fed, doubting gold

There are a lot of definitions of intrinsic value.  I prefer the definition where the intrinsic value is defined by it's value in an industrial application.  For example, copper has an application in wiring, plumbing etc.  Same for Silver, Platinum, etc.  As someone said earlier, they don't even use gold for fillings a...more
