If you over-bought your house...or paid too much, how is that the bank's problem ?  I am sure you would have been irate if they DIDN'T grant you the mortgage.  You signed and promised to pay the loan.   Please take at least a little responsibility.   Your credit score reflects your ability and desire tro repay loan...more

Those people with a poor credit history and are poor credits risks SHOULD pay higher rates IF they have credit cards at all.  The banks are taking a risk....and, if they continue their irresponsible behavior, the burden of restitution will be spread over the other card holders in their rates. The answer was very inadequate.  Why should he only put 20% down ??  If his income/mortgage ratio is a major factor in his decision, he could put 50% or more down to decrease his payments to a more agreeable amount.
