Regardless of whether or not there is a Coast Guard, Lake Michigan does not have a coast, it has a SHORE. A COAST is defined as land that opens into an ocean. So the Great Lakes' shoreline drives, while I'm sure they are beautiful, would not be included in an article entitled "Coastal Drives."
Did ANYONE actually read the title of this article? Which is COASTAL drives, not SCENIC drives? A coast is defined as land that opens into the SEA...as in an OCEAN. , The Great Lakes is NOT an ocean, and therefore would not be included on a Top 10 list of "Coastal Drives." Scenic Drives? Sure! Coastal, no.
