There be no increase in SS monthly benefits if the contribution cap is raised. There is a top limit on what you can get from SS. Eliminating the cap would result in an insignificant amount of revenue.
I agree with Sensible. With SS being in so much trouble and congress and the govt chomping on the bit to cut and/or reduce benefits for the middle class, it you were already collecting benefits, it would be difficult for the govt to cut them. Otherwise, I would delay collecting as long as possible.
