That's ok.  It may be a bigoted statement and it more than likely is.  But it does not take away from the fact that marriage was not created by the bible, for the bible, by god.

Oh and by the way, marriage is a concept created before the bible ever got a hold of it.  So who are you to say it belongs in a church or religious institution.
