One very important thing to note:
Often times we create standards of perfection in our search for a spouse that we ourselves don't live up to. Think about it, if your own criteria was applied to you, would you pass?
If the answer is "no", then you have a very serious problem that needs to be addressed.
I don't know you, and I don't know the author, but from what you both wrote, the author sounds happy, involved, secure, and vibrant, while you sound cold, vindictive, unhappy, and harsh.
That alone makes me want to follow the author's advice over yours.
Hopefully America is going to a place where people are allowed to enjoy their chosen hobbies without being judged and pejoratively labeled by people like yourself.
