Well my boss charges $1800 for most standard (which is 90% of our clients) Chapter 7's. That includes the $306 filing fee for the US Bankruptcy Court...... Chapter 13's are typically $2400-$3000 (including the filing fee $281)

And actually, yes, they will sue you. Get a judgment and execution, attach your wages, put a lien on your home, seize your (paid for) vehicle. That judgment WILL follow you around forever. Thankfully I work for a bankruptcy attorney in Mass, and here you do not have to reaffirm anything. Most judges here will ream a debtors attorney for even suggesting a reaff agreement when the debtor is (usually) so under water or just making it by month to month.

Well obviously Corn....you usually can't get a loan (these days) if you have previously filed for bankruptcy AND ARE UNEMPLOYED....that is what I meant...Sort of thought it was obvious too....apparently not to all.

In Mass, most banks won't even consider modifying your mortgage unless you are BEHIND on your mortgage. The logic is crazy. You would think that they would want to help you never get behind....not the case.
