The site was required to self report to the Feds and didn't.  There is no other requirment for a Federal inspection.  The site did notify the State of Texas about the large quantity of AN stored there, and the state did nothing to followu up.

The FDA inspects very little imported food.  I avoid food from China, India, Pakistan, Africa.  You have to assume their products contain toxins, heavy metals, bacteria, antibiotics, etc.

It's time to increase the full retirement age, reduce the COLAs and means test.

How can the government 'keep their hands out of it?'  We haven't adequately funded the other things WE want.  The government has been forced to borrow from social security, the Chinese and anyone else who will loan it money.  Because WE demand services WE are not willing to fund through taxes.
