The article is a little misleading in that it holds back the real purpose until the end.  This isn't crazy rich people having a dog wedding, it's a fund raising event for a charity.  The "wedding" is just the entertainment at the event.

No way to win for GM here.   The point of the bailout was the rescue the firm so they could preserve jobs and return to profitability.  That is exactly what they did.   If they DIDN'T make profits, people would be saying the bailout was a failure.   This was the best possible outcome for GM and for the taxpayers.

Retail workers have cause to be cranky

Will it impact Walmart? Arby's slipping down the food chain - MS...

I am from Rhode Island, and there is a local roast beef chain (Walt's) that uses real roast beef, served on rolls toasted just enough to give them a little crunch.   The prices are the same as Arby's (a bit higher than mainstream fast food) but the quality is much better. It's no surprise that Arby's couldn't compete. ...more
