Comments about European "socialized" medical care made by the world traveler (above) are correct. I remember years ago that we had to send patients who could afford to travel to France for a certain type of heart surgery not available here, to Switzerland for angioplasty and to Canada for certain drugs not approved in...more
I've never heard of a "frivilent" suit.
Comments about European "socialized" medical care made by the world traveler (above) are correct. The "Time Magazine" description of the major reasons for our highly defective health care "system" are also very accurate. However, the person who faulted the AMA for this is just...more
I had a friend who found a lump where there shouldn't have been one. A biopsy showed very aggressive cancer. The diagnosis was confirmed at the AFIP. A few months later her lungs were seeded with tumor throughout. She was soon to die. There was no treatment Then a strange thing happened: It all started to disappear....more

Now, with the new Federal Consumer Protection Act, the buyer is in a slightly better position. The law is clearly spelled out on li...more
Used primarily for urgent calls, I leave a cell phone in the car. It's a Virgin Mobile plan that costs $15 every 3 mo. The air time is charged against that and the minutes NEVER expire. I think that the phone itself cost about $7 when I bought it years ago. It still holds a charge for many months and works well.
