This is a tortiseshell cat.

I have 14 orange cats and half are male while half are female.

I  would have preferred he kept the cat because he loved him rather than that he wasn't worth a lot of money.

Orange females aren't even that rare.  T his is an old wives tale.  I rescue cats and have many.  Of my 14 orange cats, 7  are female and 7 are male.

Sorry, he is not a tortiseshell he is a true Calico which is different from a Tortie.  The Calico has clearly defined black and orange (or dilute) patches over shite while the Tortie has a blend of black and orange fur (or dilute) that are not predominantly defined patches.  Torties also usually have less white.  Howev...more
