This is the dumbest article I have seen so far about retirement communities. Sarasota, Florida has a 30% 65+ population, one of the top ten beaches in the world in Siesta Key Beach, reasonable property valuations now, a good transit system, easy access to air travel, either at SArasota/Bradenton Airport or from Tampa. ...more

There are worse things to  be in life than a McDonald's franchise owner. The screening process there is intense, it requires business acumen, financial management and yes, even people management skills. Many a successful person started out working a "menial  job" at a restaurant, whether it was McDonalds, or a local re...more

What's wrong with Ford and GM stock?

I absolutely agree - I had a 2003 Chevy Tahoe that cruised with decent MPG, too (about 18 mpg). I had to get rid of it, at 205,000 miles because the transmission finally gave out. But that car didn't owe me anything. The other vehicle I have had that beat it was my 1987 Audi 4000s, which I drove for 300,000 miles. The ...more

Waiting for the recognition

There has never been a time that the unrelenting printing of money didn't result in higher inflation, higher commodity prices and reduced currency value. The economics of it are only being delayed by the Fed's actions, not eliminated. Even Alan Greenspan watched the price of gold as a proxy for inflation. Bernanke WANT...more

That is the great Ponzi scheme of all time. I believe a more accurate number is closer to $5 Trillion (but it is public kn...more

Gold, and most other precious metals and commodities, are priced woldwide in USDollars. As the dollar declines in value, the price of gold HAS to increase proportionately. So the currency and the metal is linked by market forces. For example, if irresponsible FED policy dictates the flooding of the markets with dollars...more

India is the world's largest gold consumer and imports 90% or so of its needs. The main reason: a love for gold jewelry for cultural and religious purposes, as well as for investment.   This is copied and pasted directly from the article. I don't where you got the number of !,000,000 Metric Tons, but you might want t...more

Stocks near meltdown? 3 picks for a bear...

This is the most uninformed article on investing I think I  have ever seen. Going to 20 year Treasuries when the yield is at an all-time low is the exact opposite. Yes, the money coming out of stocks in a hypothetical  crash has to go somewhere, but it is likely in cash, not long term bonds. It might even be Euro-based...more
