Which hard assets are the safest haven right now given that stocks and bonds are unstable for the short term?

Uh, let's see... could it be that the higher profit margins are being squeezed out of fewer workers?  Not too hard to figure out why the unemployment claims continue to rise....companies are still cautious about adding heads.
