If I am not mistaken just a couple of years ago the Univerisity of Arizona did carbon dating on peices of wood from the Oregon trail that said the said peices wwere over 1500 years old. Study concluded that Carbon 14 testing could be flawed by atmosperic conditions . If I remember the story correctly.
