Are bikinis fading in popularity?

Finally losing that last 10 lbs and working out with weights got me to the point where I WANT to wear a bikini.  However, it's hard to find ones you can actually SWIM in. Most of the expensive bikinis I see in resort boutiques have metal rings and/or trim and metallic fabrics that certainly aren't practically for loung...more

Strapless dresses banned at middle-schoo...

A strapless dress can easily be modified by adding some straps made with fancy ribbon for only a few dollars.  Can even get "rhinestone" covered straps.  I think 8th grade is too young for strapless party dresses.  I compete in ballroom dancing, and strapless dresses are not recommended because of the potential for "wa...more

I'll bet it was delivered to the wrong address, someone found it recently and dropped it in a mailbox.  Doubt it was sitting in a PO all that time!

Why you should use a credit card

Try traveling without a credit card.  Rent a car? Reserve a hotel room?  Buy a plane ticket without a lot of hassle? Try doing either or those without a card.  I use my cards for most EVERYTHING (gas, groceries, utilities, etc.), pay off the bill monthly and fly to Hawaii and/or the Caribbean several times a year on ai...more

I've had TSA confiscate a 4-oz sealed tub of fruit with a small amount of juice, because the total was more than 3 oz.  Once, an entire 4-pack was seized, and the agent left his station and went behind a closed door, not to the nearest trash can.  No doubt that was his lunch, but that was supposed to b e my breakfast f...more

Anyone try to watch a TV set that high without getting neck strain after a few minutes?  Really, I wonder if architects/decorators ever try out stuff before foisting them on their clients as the "latest" trend.

It's foolish to pay off the mortgage and be house rich and cash poor.  If you have SS plus retirement income that puts you in the 25% bracket, the interest deduction will help.  Why should you leave a paid-off house to your heirs and deprive yourself? Try to get a new mortgage when you're retired--reverse mortgages are...more

Whenever I'm on a flight and a baby cries on takeoffs or landings, I wonder why the heck they didn't give the baby a bottle or "nookie" to such on to help equalize the ears.  Don't they KNOW that's a problem?  Any adult who has ever flown knows that chewing gum or swallowing helps with changing pressure.  And I just ch...more
