I see a lot of people referring to social security as "getting their money back that they paid into it" - Social Security has never been set up like that. The younger generation pays into it so the payments can be made to the retired folks that are receiving it. I am paying into it now so that they can receive their mo...more
I did not see where he was blaming the recession on the boomer generation, there are 42,000 things going on right now that are contributing to this quagmire of a "recovery". However, he did bring up an interesting concept. The makeup of a society does dictate certain things and if a large part of society is in the boom...more
Sears has been around since 1887. I think K 65 hit it right on the head when they said that Sears should add a Made in the USA department. Sometimes going back to ones roots is where you find your glory. Furthermore it was the Made in America motto that first made Walmart a hit, before they got to big for their britche...more

However, as jas060900 pointed out it is all non-tangible useless stuff that has no value , how it can be valued at 5.5 bil is beyond me.
Albertson's had done this before and I have enjoyed participating, my daughter is just starting out and it had given me a way of giving her dishes or pots and pans to help her out. Sometimes I have even used the stamps and donated whatever it was I received to someone who needed it. I remember the saving stamps as a ki...more
I completely agree with "under 25". Whenever the government gets involved in anything, it becomes a mess. When my daughter was looking at colleges some of the private schools were more than happy to try and get us to sign onto a huge loan. I wouldn't do it. Remove the cheap money and the costs will come down.
As a small business owner, I am seeing inflation begin to show itself in energy costs, steel and aluminum costs and unemployment insurance costs, tax increases ect. After surviving for the last year and a half I do not have the float to swallow these increases and we have already had to increase our prices. The Fed h...more
