Job gains aren't what they seem

His next to last paragraph says it all.  I blame it on mortgage lenders and realtors who enticed people to buy what they were "loan eligible" for.  I pushed my realtor for home sales that fell into a one income bracket. Even after a 2009  "sequestration" cut of 10% hours and 10% pay, I'm still able to make the mortgage...more

What do you do about the areas  USPS is contracted to deliver to by UPS and FEDEX. There are areas where UPS and FEDEX DO NOT GO!  These are usually rural customers in largely  agricultural, sparsely populated areas.

I'm a boomer (I think... I'm 56) and I don't expect to retire until I'm 80+. My mother still works at 81. I don't have retirement due to unforseen calamities that insurance , etc didn't cover. I understand that SSI is supposed to be an insurance for when I'm UNABLE to work any longer and don't have the funds to sustain...more

Depends on where you live in AL. I  only pay 8% taxes, but as my expenditures are mostly for groceries and I grow most of my veggies, I don't pay much in sales tax. As for property tax, I own property in TX and AL and my taxes in TX are 5 times what they are in AL for approximately the same value. Have lived in other s...more

The writer was cautioning would be buyers that the nugget wasn't found with a cheapie, so don't expect to go to wally world and plunk down a few Bens and have the same luck.

I seem to recall British subjects challenging the status quo... it was called the American Revolution.  One of the rights fought for was freedom of speech.  Thought provoking  dialogue is what most of this country needs, not more "real" TV. It won't hurt us to entertain new ideas and differing philosophies.
