We have death panels right now--the family and friends of the afflicted.  We don't need the government making life and death decisions for us.  These people know the facts better than a government appointed panel.  The author's fallacy is he doesn't believe that given the chance people can make the right decision.

Gone with the Wind and the Wizard of Oz are two of my least favorite "classic" movies of all time.  While I wouldn't include Raiders, SOTL and Stalag 17 on my list, they are darn good movies.
