As a farmer (realizing we are about 1% of the population) I love the fact I don't have to finish work in the dark all summer.  The question is why we don't leave it there year round.  I hate it being dark at 4 PM.

Actually they are made in Waterloo Iowa at John Deere engine works after the block comes from the John Deere foundry in the same city.  I own 2 large field tractors and have toured the plant.
