Same here, except instead of kicking me out, my mom moved out, said the rent is paid for one more month and good luck. I haven't had any good luck at all since.

Yep. Because 10 bucks an hour really makes a dent. Uh-huh.   Duh Lori. Most students did work and worked a lot. In this generation's economy, working doesn't even support someone NOT going to college, let alone adding college into the mix.

I agree with Paul. In 2009 I shopped used cars with good safety records/dependability (necessary with a family). Turned out I could actually get a new car through the Costco Auto Program, with incentives, for LESS than the price of any available used safe car.

I'm just not comfortable with idea of a beater failing on the highway killing myself and my child and possibly a few other families as well. If he's still alive, he's lucky his cars always failed "safely".
