Saying a person with an 85% and a person with 95% are equally knowledgeable (both got A's) is not accurate. Who wouldn't love getting a superior grade for inferior work. 85% is not an A. When I went to school you needed a 94% to get an A. We worked harder because of it. When knowing only 65% of the material is an passing grade, what is a failing grade? Lowering the bar does not increase excellence.
