Cigarettes are proof of that our government is being totally hypocritical when it comes to poor health and number of deaths in the USA. The gov. requires the death sentence be printed on each pack, yet they remain leagal so they can generate tax. Great time to point this out during the gun debate.
The internet was really developed by Morse .... the guy that invented Morse code. The one's and zeros he transmitted aren't much different than today, especially since he could transmit about 30 characters/min. (dial up - right?) He was also affiliated with setting up the wires to make it work.

Lets see if I have this right. First the government requires banks to loan money to people who can't afford a house - then come to the rescue when they can't make payments, and if the goverment and banks would have given away $75 billion tax payer dollars faster - our forclosure rate would be down.

A giant hole in the article - those who were retired or about to that lost large amounts of savings due to this recession. Some were forced to "cash in" their stocks that were bought at $30 a share and sold for $10/share, just to make ends meet.

I like how Obama attacks Wall Street and the Fat Cat bankers one day , then the next day he tells us that he worries about what will happen with Wall Street and bankers if we don't pass a deal. I guess it only matters to the immediate audience.
You could take every penny of the super rich and it still wouldn't fix our problem. If I were rich, the last thing I would want to do is pay everyone's taxes for them. Half the people pay no income taxes at all, and now they get a 1% break on SS and medicare taxes, which I'll be paying for in the future also.
