I'd love to see this article amended to include something simple, like not spending on frivolous things if you can't afford to pay your basic bills: mortgage, electric etc.  I know too many parents who carry a very worrisome amount of bad debt and have had banks threaten foreclosure (multiple times) on their homes, yet...more
