I think it's disturbing that IRS has mismanaged our tax dollars so poorly. Even though these type of things keep occuring, they have not established effective internal controls from managing their most important assset! Shame, shame, shame...
You people do realize the IRS refund deposited into his account was the woman's money, right? It's not the goverment's money - she should have every right to get it back. How would you feel if this was your money and you simply made a mistake?
Technically wasn't the banks mistake? I think it is at least in part. Seems like an internal control issue... Why would a bank reassign the same account number to someone else a few years down the road?
