Your signature no longer matters

I know it's just a throw-away line meant to be humourous and really has nothing to do with the article, but this...:   "President Barack Obama's new pick for Treasury secretary has so far received more attention for his loopy signature than for his views on fiscal policy."   ...pretty much sums up why the US is...more

Like pocketprotector, I use Vanguard (my wife, TRP) - just a small handful of no-load mutual funds. We won't get 'rich' because we've started so late; but by the time we retire, we should be comfortable. Slow and steady...   Oh, and it helps to stay out of debt.

I've only eaten at two or three of these on the list; still, I'm sorry to see them go ONLY because so many will lose jobs. But I'm on the list here with those who eat almost entirely at local mom/pop restaurants. The experience is almost always better.  And I feel (rightly or wrongly - you may disagree) that supporting...more

Will millennials ever be homeowners? - M...

In one sentence: "She says she sees now that she could have used more help with planning."   Then the very next statement, "Her parents warned that debt would make it hard to buy a home. But she did not understand what that meant, she says."   Ahhh, Bate. You got "more help with planning". Your parents warned you....more

11 common credit card mistakes

This is a good article (for a change); the problem is, though, the people who can benefit from this information probably aren't on a 'money' website.

Why you may never want to pay off your m...

Really questionable advice, but I think we all could have stopped reading when we got to the second sentence:   "No, I don't mean not making your mortgage payments, although even that can make sense under some limited circumstances."   Really? Yea, I suppose not paying your bills.......well.... ......will save ...more
