Already I see people trying to transfer the blame to the caretakers of this sacred animal. This should be treated as an ethnic crime and the perpetrators if caught should recieve Native American Justice (ie-spearing or skinning). This officer was afraid of dogs - he immediately tried to blame the dog; the owner anyone other than himself - He felt that he was in the wrong and he needed to protect himself. No Absolutely not. Castle doctrine should apply. If the police can shoot a fleeing felon so should a civilian - and the legal threshold should actually be more lenient for the homeowner.
