There are so many ignorant commenters. Just because you may not pay payroll taxes doesn't mean you're a deadbeat. I guess the detractors have never been laid off? And if you have been laid off did you pay payroll taxes?

You are required to pledge allegiance to the U.S. before any other country but are not required to renounce your other citizenship.

Yes that's the way it generally works. It's set up as a Tax Treaty between the U.S. and the respective country.

No you don't. I naturalized this year and I still have my UK citizenship. Renouncing a citizenship, especially of the UK, is not a trivial thing and is a legal process.
My wife and I are suing a person who maliciously caused us great financial harm and who we can only sue as a civil case. It makes me sick that if we can get a judgement, he can simply go through bankruptcy and have the judgement discharged. It's not all about corporations against unfortunates.
