10 sneaky car dealer tricks

Try being a mortgage banker.  Or, an "investment counselor".  Or a "insurance advisor".  At least three jobs, where you work 40-50 hours per week without a pay check.  Sorry G.V.  No sympathy here.

Rover "Wench",   I was on your side on a previous post, but your (not 'you are' or you're) whining is getting a bit thin.  (PMS time or are you killing time on the showroom floor during the holidays today writing these rants?)    Since you are (not - your) selling an upscale vehicle, with expensive add-ons (such a...more

Who the hell is Stacy Johnson?  And when was this article written? (or plagiarized?)  And what editor (if MSN Money actually uses one) allowed this junior college English paper to be posted as a lead on a (supposed) major web site? I am not a car dealer, fan of car dealers or the automotive industry in general.  I ...more

Most of this article is common sense.  However, if you are anticipating "top dollar" from a car dealer on your trade-in, you are in for a big surprise.  A private buyer may pay you more (not much, but more) if the vehicle is in pristine condition.  And by that I mean, minimal dents, dings, scratches, etc. based on mile...more
