People at our fund office say the actuaries are for every 2 yrs. you retire early, you will add 5 yrs. to your life span. Like I stated my grandfather retired at 54 yrs. old, I'm right with him, "lol" Like anything you need to keep active, REMEMBER it's the stress you're getting rid of!

I'm retiring at 55 in 10 months. I've only worked 10 months since Jan. 2009. Been getting unemployment benefits while off as well. Whats the difference, if they're already paying for the coverage it doesn't affect them. If they're aren't they can do what Walmart does it has most their employees on state health care, paying them less than 30 hrs a week. I also started my work carreer in 1978, making maybe $18,000 a year, before I got laid off in 2009 at the age of 50, I was making $135,000.
