Best Buy: No more 'showrooming'

To be clear, "razor thin" margins are the reason these stores are having problems....not "show rooming". BB would be better served teaching the assocoates who a "real customer" is. I see these "fine folks" all the time in the stores with their smart phone apps...but what are they really saving...pennies...A ND these...more

Time for back-to-school shopping -- real...

Sadly...DD2 broke the bad news to me...no more "back to school shopping" for me. She is a college gal now and well...my services are no longer required. So for the first time in 25 years I'll be a spectator during "back to school" season...

When your parents die broke

Just had MIL and FIL pass and their funeral arrangements were well over $10K...each...and they had life insurance which didn't cover everything. MY folks should be a "real treat"as they are less than penniless....all as a result of very poor decisions made. Sadly very bitter people...it's everyone else's fault..but the...more

The truly crazy thing is DM wants to pass along some expensive jewelry to grand children BUT fully expects me to pay for ...more

P&G's troubles start in the corner offic...

Crazy as it sounds...I agree with Cramer. This CEO is KILLING the company. Just take a look in the market for their products....their price points are WAY out of line. Is Tide a bit better than say All?....Maybe...but two....maybe three times as good to reflect the pricing? No way!  The folks at P&G better wake up ...t...more

12 ways to splurge -- frugally

Good article and very true....Just yesterday...Father's Day ...treated DD2 to a treat at Dairy Queen. True I had a buy one get one coupon...but this did not diminish the great time I had by having a "special time" with one of my favorite people. Came to just under $5 for both of us...worth every penny!!!

How the Great Recession changed us

Here's a thought. How about a stated federal energy policy that is coordinated with new tecnology as well as tax incentives that free us from the madness of buying oil from nations who hate us and use our own money to try to destroy our way of life. My thought is that an energy program approached with the same vigor an...more
