How much is a homemaker worth?

sahdman is about right, but it is good to know what the street value would be if you turned yourself into a nanny or as a hired out parent.  Also a stay at home Dad here too, it all depends on your area you live in and my area in Michigan this number is real generous/high  as the total family income/exspenses are less ...more

Robert is accurate in living below means both in housing and activities, but I will say he is not retired if he keeps free lancing work; that is working anyway you slice it.  To leave the Office life for freelance is not retiring, it is just simply going in a different direction for income.
