This article is terrible.  The writer is asking us to tip in cash so that waiters can cheat on their taxes.    Waiters work very hard, that's true, but they are well paid and at least they have jobs.  I don't pity them or feel sorry for them.  They are better off than a lot of people right now.

This mess started because of rampant greed.  Everyone's home is worth less, people are losing jobs and our retirement funds and savings have been reduced by more than half.  We will emerge from this mess a lot wiser and that's a good thing.  The markets will eventually return, but I don't think any one of us will forge...more
