My wife bought a new 1990 Honda CRX midrange , not the HF or SI.  In 1990 it got actual 41 MPG both HIGHWAY AND CITY Driving.  Today with over 800,000 miles (I rebuilt the engine twice so far) it still gets 41 MPG and still is great fun to drive
