Actually, re: the LOTR reference.... when I worked in a college library, we had a room that only librarians were allowed into. In reality, it was our ops and quarantine room, where we repaired damaged books and whatnot. But somewhere along the line, someone decided to hang fake foliage on the wall and painted a LOTR mu...more
Honestly, I don't even know many kids who know who Ronald IS anymore. He's not the prominent marketing figure he once was. I can't remember the last time I saw him in a commercial (but then, I don't have cable and rarely watch television.) I do remember a few McD's commercials recently, but they were all aimed at adult...more

I usually find people trying to say something stupid, pointless, or rude. You sound like a very interesting person and I have thoroughly enjoyed talking to you. It has been a breath of fresh a...more

My only point was that it may or may not have already been "tradition" by then, since a woman's wedding dress often WAS her party dress. It's certai...more
Quite correct. I wrote a college paper on wedding traditions, including the color of the dress (among a long list of other traditions. It was for a composition class, and I could pick any topic. I had always been fascinated about how certain traditions came to be, and wedding traditions seemed to be the most numerous I...more
